Whirlwind: Prologue

Prologue:

"I was born to be with you, silly!"

If it was a pick-up line, it might be the most useless line... Then again, I kinda like it... For someone who had given up finding someone... its nice to know that my existence meant something to another.

Gazing at the couples, as I walked alone in a crowded street. Smiling warily as I continued on my way. Admittedly, I envied them for having someone to run to when in need for warmth, comfort, understanding and a bit of loving... but then I don't think I am capable of it.

As I absently walked the path on my way home, I heard my ever familiar ring tone... "Yes?"

"Faith, where are you?"

"Why? I'm just a block away from the condo" I answered as I noticed her SUV parked in front of the convenience store of my condo, I saw walk back and forth with a cellphone on her ear.

"Good. I'm already here in your condo."

"Ya, I know." I answered as I watch her turn around and I waved at her. Walking towards her, I felt a sudden chill run through my whole body. "Lucy-neechan, what brings you here?"

"Get in the car." Lucy commanded, ignoring my inquiry completely. "Now"

I shook my head as I made my way to her car, "What is this about?"

"Get in."

I studied her serious face, thought of the choices of getting out of this without getting flayed alive... None... Damn... "Ok... what's the rush?" I asked as I took my seat and pulled the seat belt over me.

"That bastard is back."

Should have known, "So when did you know that he's back?" Thinking about that moron and what he did to my sister... "Neechan, when did he come back?"

"A few days ago, that's what he told me."

"What?!" OMG! The nerve of that bastard, showing his face and acting as if...

"He contacted me, wanting to reconcile with me..."

"Did you let him sweet talk you?"

"I have David now... He can no longer be part of my life"

"Then why are you so serious and everything? Scaring me even?

"I guess, I'm still afraid..."

"Neechan..." I said softly, trying to comfort her by holding on to her hand, "Hey, you no longer need to be afraid, David and I are here for you... We won't let that monster near you again."

"Thanks..."

As I watched my sister's car be part of the well-lit streets, my mind wandered towards the current issue at hand. That bastard have returned to haunt my sister again, I knew the first time I saw him that he would hurt my sister, but I never stopped my sister to be with him... It's because she loves him, obsessively loved him until it almost destroyed her. I clearly remembered that day in the hospital... she was beaten so badly by that... monster...

Barely able to be conscious for more than a few minutes, my sister laid weakly in a hospital bed for more than a month. I remember how deeply she was hurt, not only in the physical sense but also emotionally. I would never forgive that evil man, for what he done to my sister. Never.
